What I’ve learned from the design process is that the word of the day is…
HIERARCHY
Why the hierarchy is important is that it divides the items you want to do into categories that are broader than “done” and “not done”.
The done // not done categorization is doomsday for even the healthiest of morale.
Any black or white categorization for that matter has the pitfall of being depression-inducing if you don’t measure up. The bigger the “did not get to” list is, the lower your morale and the higher the stress level.

By making a shortlist of must-do’s and a long list of maybe’s, it is more likely that you will succeed at many more than you think.
Second ingredient:
KNOW THYSELF!
That’s not to be confused with aiming low.. that’s not it and you should never aim low because then all you get is low-lessness..

But a certain realism is important. If you want to do double the deeds from last year, it is either likely that you will not succeed or, you may need to change many habits in your life to make it happen. Whichever the case, don’t lie to yourself about it.

So why would we really do this to ourselves every year? I believe it’s because of our constant want to make things that matter.
So here it is for 2021, let’s make this one matter more!
